Demonstrating a Professional Body of Knowledge
This artefact is taken from my field III observation feedback. This is an excellent example of how I demonstrate a professional body of knowledge because it shows I was able to include digital technology in an appropriate way to apply and create new knowledge, communicate, and formatively assess student understanding (Alberta Education, 2018). Because we do not have a whiteboard in the classroom, I thought this would be a good alternative to display instructions and techniques in the moment.
Not only did I use technology to engage my students in participation, but I also used sticky notes to create a collaborative wall of ideas for their upcoming project as well as a quick “thumbs up” to formatively assess their progress. This showcases my ability to provide a variety of ways to collect student achievements as I teach, therefore generating evidence of student learning (Alberta Education, 2018).
