Fostering Effective Relationships

During the summer of 2020, I signed up to be an online tutor. In that experience, I learned how to build a relationship with the two students I was paired up with as well as their parents, and my peers. I believe this is an excellent example of my ability to foster effective relationships because I provided “meaningful opportunities for students and for parents/guardians, as partners in education, to support student learning” (Alberta Education, 2018, p. 4).
The link and picture on the side is an example of how I collaborated with the parents to create lesson plans well suited for their child. The parents had full access to the resources I was using through a shared Google folder. With this experience during Covid-19, I was able to build positive and productive relationships, with the students and parents engaging in the learning process.
